Burnley defender ‘attracting interest from Premier League, Bundesliga clubs’

Burnley defender Jordan Beyer is reportedly attracting interest from a number of Premier League and Bundesliga clubs, who have enquired about the services of the German.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga are reportedly interested in signing Burnley‘s Jordan Beyer during the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old made the initial loan move to the second-tier Clarets in the summer of 2022 from German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach, looking for regular first-team minutes.

Beyer was a key part of the Burnley side which cantered to the Championship crown under Vincent Kompany in 2022-23, finishing above second-placed Sheffield United.

The defender featured in 30 second-tier matches for the Clarets – starting 29 of those – managing to provide four goal contributions during the league campaign.

Having represented Germany Under-21s on seven occasions between August 2019 and June 2023, Beyer also possesses a degree of international experience.

Burnley’s Beyer ‘wanted by Premier League and Bundesliga clubs’

According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, Beyer could be set for a move away from Turf Moor during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The report claims that some of Burnley’s Premier League counterparts have enquired about the availability of the centre-back ahead of the new campaign.

There is also said to be interest in Beyer from back in his homeland, with unnamed Bundesliga sides approaching the Clarets over the possibility of signing the player.

It is understood that a switch away from Kompany’s side for the German could be possible if they are unable to avoid an immediate return to the Championship this season.

Despite a respectable point at the home of Manchester United on Saturday, Burnley remain in the bottom three of the Premier League, two points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest.

Beyer’s injury woes

Beyer is attracting interest from clubs around the top leagues in Europe despite failing to feature in a match for Burnley this calendar year so far.

The centre-back has struggled with a mixture of hamstring and knee issues, limiting him to just 15 Premier League starts for the Clarets in 2023-24.

It is understood that Beyer is recovering well from his current knee injury and will be fit again soon, potentially featuring in the last three contests of the term.

A centre-back partnership of Dara O’Shea and January signing Maxime Esteve has worked a treat in recent weeks, helping the Clarets to collect four points from two games.
