Saturday’s Premier League predictions including Manchester United vs. Burnley

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today’s Premier League fixtures, including Manchester United vs. Burnley.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Reeling from their gut-wrenching derby defeat in midweek, Liverpool will endeavour to reignite their Premier League title hopes when they travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

The Hammers are also seeking to return to winning ways having lost their last two top-flight fixtures in disappointing fashion against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

We say: West Ham United 1-2 Liverpool

Victory is of the essence for both of these out-of-form clubs as they attempt to enhance their hopes of achieving their respective targets this season, but it will be Liverpool who enter Saturday’s contest as favourites considering their recent record over West Ham.

The Hammers have the credentials to cause problems for the Reds in the final third, especially if Bowen is fit to return, but we believe that Klopp’s side will find a way to bounce back and claim maximum points.

Manchester United will be aiming to make it successive victories in the Premier League when they welcome relegation-threatened Burnley to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils returned to sixth spot in the table courtesy of a 4-2 success over basement side Sheffield United on Wednesday night, while 19th-placed Burnley were also last in action against the Blades, beating their fellow strugglers 4-1 at Bramall Lane last weekend.

We say: Manchester United 2-1 Burnley

This is a tough one to predict, as Burnley are not losing many at the moment, and the Clarets are fighting for their lives. It remains to be seen which Man United turn up for this game, but we are predicting a narrow success for the Red Devils, who have enough quality to see off Kompany’s side this weekend.

Sheffield United will be relegated from the Premier League if they fail to beat top-six hopefuls Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams enter this contest on the back of midweek losses away from home; while the Magpies suffered defeat at Crystal Palace, the Blades were put to the sword by Manchester United.

We say: Newcastle United 4-0 Sheffield United

Although Newcastle struggled to find the net in midweek, they have scored in all 17 of their Premier League home matches this season, and after netting eight goals in the reverse fixture against Sheffield United, they will be confident of success in the final third this weekend.

With relegation looming, the Blades will be keen to end the campaign on a positive note, but Wilder’s leaky backline may have difficulty stopping a fired-up Magpies outfit who are keen to return to winning ways in a bid to boost their European hopes.

Seeking to climb out of the relegation zone, Luton Town travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in a bottom-half Premier League clash on Saturday afternoon.

The Hatters earned their first Premier League point of the season, albeit in controversial circumstances, when they played out a 1-1 draw with Wolves in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road in September last year.

We say: Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Luton Town

Although neither side will be at full strength and enter this weekend’s contest on the back of a poor run of form, both clubs will fancy their chances of coming out to on top. A tight affair could be in store, but we believe Wolves will find a way to outscore their opponents and avoid a third successive home defeat.

A mid-table Premier League contest takes centre stage at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon as 13th-placed Fulham play host to 14th-placed Crystal Palace.

The two London clubs meet for the first time since September last year when they played out a goalless stalemate at Selhurst Park.

We say: Fulham 1-2 Crystal Palace

There has been little to separate these two teams in recent years, with three of the last four meetings ending all square, but taking into account the contrasting form of both clubs heading into Saturday’s fixture, we believe Palace have the momentum behind them to collect maximum points against an out-of-sorts Fulham outfit.

Fresh from their midweek Merseyside derby triumph, Everton will be looking to win three Premier League games in a row when they welcome Brentford to Goodison Park on Saturday evening.

The Bees are also in high spirits at present and are seeking to claim back-to-back away victories in the top flight for the first time this season.

We say: Everton 2-1 Brentford

None of the last 10 Premier League meetings between these two teams at Goodison Park have ended as a draw, but a closely-fought contest between two evenly-matches sides could be on the cards this weekend.

Having said that, Everton have looked strong on home soil recently and if they can replicate their performance levels from midweek, they may just do enough to edge past Brentford and move one step closer to Premier League survival.

Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers celebrates scoring against Bournemouth on April 21, 2024© Reuters

On the back of contrasting results in the previous round of Premier League fixtures, Aston Villa and Chelsea renew acquaintances at Villa Park on Saturday evening.

While the Lions came from behind to beat Bournemouth 3-1 last weekend, the Blues were on the wrong end of a 5-0 scoreline at the hands of London rivals Arsenal on Tuesday.

We say: Aston Villa 2-2 Chelsea

Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal have been evident in recent matches, but the expected return of top scorer Palmer would be a huge boost for the Blues against a Villa outfit that have only kept two clean sheets in their last 11 league games.

With that in mind as well as the previous three meetings between the two clubs this season, a closely-fought yet entertaining contest could be in store, one that may result in the spoils being shared.
