Preview: Kasimpasa vs. Samsunspor – prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash between Kasimpasa and Samsunspor, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Kasimpasa will be seeking to avoid a third defeat on the bounce as they prepare for the visit of Samsunspor to the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Stadyumu on Saturday.

The away side, meanwhile, head to Istanbul this weekend aiming to go one better this time around having had to settle for a share of the spoils in three straight matches.

Match preview

Kasimpasa came away empty-handed for the second consecutive game following a 2-0 defeat against Gaziantep at the Kalyon Stadyumu on Sunday.

Sami Ugurlu‘s men made a poor start to the game and fell behind to an Alexandru Maxim strike before Arda Kizildag doubled the deficit just past the half-hour mark.

As a result, The Apaches have moved up to seventh place in the Turkish Super Lig table, five points behind Besiktas in the race for the final European spot.

Coming up next is the challenge of an opposing outfit who have come out on top in three of the last four meetings between the teams across all competitions.

Winless in four straight home matches since early February, Saturday’s hosts will be keen to give their fans reason to cheer this time around.

Samsunspor played out a 1-1 stalemate against Adana Demirspor when the teams went head to head at the Samsun 19 Mayis Stadyumu on Saturday.

Markus Gisdol‘s men went into the break down by one following Stiven Mendoza‘s opener before Landry Dimata levelled matters in second-half stoppage time.

With 39 points picked up from 33 matches so far, The Red Lightnings sit 12th in the standings, six points adrift shy of a place in the top half.

Aiming to pick up what would be a rare victory on the road, Saturday’s visitors have work to do at both ends of the pitch as they look to claim maximum points on the road for the first time since mid-January.

Team News

Kasimpasa’s Erdem Cetinkaya is ruled out of this one through an injury problem he picked up in the reverse meeting between Saturday’s opponents.

The home side will also be without the services of midfielder Dries Saddiki who remains a considerable way off making his return to action.

Twenty-eight-year-old Lubomir Satka is Samsunspor’s only guaranteed absentee for this one as he prepares to sit out a fourth straight game due to a damaged ankle.

However, Carlo Holse is back available for the visitors having served a one-game suspension in the draw against Adana Demirspor last time out.

Kasimpasa possible starting lineup:
Gianniotis; Gedik, Ozcan, Omeruo, Winck; Gul, Kara, Hajradinovic; Ouanes, Fall, Da Costa

Samsunspor possible starting lineup:
Kocuk; Gonul, Van Drongelen, Ozturk, Yavru; Ait Bennasser, Antalyali; Kilinc, Ntcham, Holse; Maruis

We say: Kasimpasa 2-1 Samsunspor

Kasimpasa have seen their matches produce the second-most combined goals in the division and another entertaining affair is on the cards here. That said, we are tipping the home side to carry the day.
