SURE ODDS BANNER

Wrexham will continue their bid to secure back-to-back promotions when they travel to the Keepmoat Stadium for Tuesday’s League Two contest.

The Red Dragons are sitting in third in the standings, while the hosts currently occupy 15th place in the standings.

Doncaster have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times, having lost just one of their last 11 matches (W7, D3).

They are also enjoying a four-game winning run after they recorded a 2-0 victory in Friday’s away meeting with Crawley Town.

Hakeem Adelakun opened the scoring in the 57th minute, before Maxime Biamou registered a stoppage-time goal to wrap up all three points.

With eight points separating them from the top seven, a playoff push appears to be out of Doncaster’s reach, but they will still be keen to move into the top half of the table between now and the end of the season.

Having kept clean sheets in each of their last three home games, Rovers will believe they have the resilience required to stop a Wrexham side that are currently the third-highest scorers.

Like their hosts, Wrexham will enter Tuesday’s fixture in a confident mood after bouncing back from a defeat against Tranmere Rovers to consecutive victories over Grimsby Town and Mansfield Town.

After beating the Mariners via a 3-1 scoreline, Phil Parkinson‘s side went on to clinch a crucial 2-0 victory in Friday’s home meeting with the Stags thanks to a Paul Mullin brace.

Although Wrexham moved onto 73 points alongside second-placed Mansfield, they remain just behind their promotion rivals due to goal difference.

Crucially, the Red Dragons finished the weekend with a three-point advantage over MK Dons in fourth spot, leaving them well set to achieve promotion in the next five matches.

However, Wrexham still have significant work to do, beginning with Tuesday’s trip to Yorkshire, where they will attempt to complete a league double over Doncaster after winning 2-1 in September’s reverse fixture.

Team News

Doncaster are expected to be without the injured quartet of Ian Lawlor, Ben Close, George Miller and Jon Taylor.

Joseph Oluwu could be brought into the side to replace Tom Anderson, who is suspended following his red card against Crawley.

Biamou could be rewarded with a starting spot after he came off the bench to score the second goal in Friday’s 2-0 win.

As for the visitors, they are unable to call upon Anthony Forde, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a back problem.

Full-back Jacob Mendy is also unlikely to feature after missing Friday’s win over Mansfield due to a hamstring issue.

After seeing his side beat their promotion rivals, Parkinson could be tempted to select an unchanged starting lineup.

Doncaster Rovers possible starting lineup:
Lo-Tutala; Sterry, Oluwu, Wood, Maxwell; Bailey, Craig, Molyneux, Biggins, Adelakun; Biamou

Wrexham possible starting lineup:
Okonkwo; Bolton, Cleworth, O’Connell, Boyle, McClean; Cannon, O’Connor, Lee; Palmer, Mullin

SM words green background

We say: Doncaster Rovers 1-1 Wrexham

Doncaster may be down in 15th place, but they are one of the most in-form sides in the division, and we think they will do enough to take a point off promotion-chasing Wrexham.
