Manchester United ‘prepared to listen to offers for Christian Eriksen in January’

Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for experienced midfielder Christian Eriksen in January, according to a report.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United are reportedly willing to listen to offers for experienced midfielder Christian Eriksen during the January transfer window.

The Denmark international made the move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2022 after running down his contract at Brentford, and he has represented the Red Devils on 59 occasions, scoring three goals and registering 12 assists in the process.

Eriksen has featured 15 times this season, scoring once and providing two assists, but he is currently on the sidelines with a knee problem.

The 31-year-old has missed his side’s last three Premier League matches and will also be absent against Bournemouth on Saturday, but he is on course to return before the end of the year.

According to Football Insider, Man United are open to January bids for Eriksen, with the club believing that he could struggle with the demands of Premier League football moving forward.

The report claims that some staff members were concerned by his performances in the early stages of the season, and he is unlikely to be at the club for the start of next season.

Eriksen has another 18 months left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, having penned a three-year deal upon his arrival from Brentford in July 2022.

Man United are expected to overhaul their midfield department next year, with the club also said to be willing to listen to offers for Casemiro.

A number of Saudi Arabian clubs are believed to be keeping a close eye on Casemiro’s situation at Old Trafford, with a move for the Brazilian next year believed to be likely.

Donny van de Beek is also set to leave in 2024, while the club are allegedly yet to decide whether to sign Sofyan Amrabat on a permanent basis from Fiorentina.

Scott McTominay was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the summer, but the Scotland international is now set to stay, having developed into a key player for head coach Erik ten Hag.

Eriksen had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator device fitted after suffering a cardiac arrest while representing Denmark at Euro 2020, which led to him leaving Inter Milan on a free transfer in December 2021.

Eriksen made the move to Brentford in January 2022, and he scored once and provided four assists in 11 appearances for the Bees, with his performances leading to Man United bringing him to Old Trafford, but his time at the club could now come coming to an end.
