Leganes are the reigning Segunda Division champions, and they are attempting to make it back-to-back seasons in Spain’s top flight for the first time since 2020.
El Lega boast a record of two wins, five draws and five defeats from their 12 league matches this season, which has left them in 15th spot in the table on 11 points, two points outside of the relegation zone.
All things considered, it has been a solid start to the campaign for the Madrid outfit, and they have actually won two of their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 success over Celta Vigo in their last game on home soil.
Borja Jimenez‘s side also beat Ciudad de Lucena 2-1 in the Copa del Rey at the end of last month to progress to the second round of the competition, but they were beaten 4-3 by Girona in the league last weekend.
Leganes have lost their last two La Liga games against Sevilla, with their last top-flight success over Saturday’s opponents proving to be a 3-0 victory during the 2018-19 campaign.

Sevilla have also won two of their last three matches, ending October with successive victories over Espanyol and Las Rozas in the league and Copa del Rey respectively.
Garcia Pimienta‘s side will enter this game off the back of a defeat, though, going down 2-0 at home to Real Sociedad last time out, with the result leaving them in 13th position in the table.
Sevilla have won four, drawn three and lost five of their 12 league matches this season to collect 15 points, and they are only four points above their opponents this weekend.
That said, only four points separate them from sixth-placed Athletic Bilbao, so a lot could change in a short space of time, and there have been positives from the team in the early stages of the campaign.
Los Nervionenses finished 14th in Spain’s top flight last season, which proved to be their worst campaign since being relegated in 1999-2000, so there is plenty of room for improvement in 2024-25.

Leganes will be without the services of Jorge Saenz, Daniel Raba, Jackson Porozo, Sebastien Haller and Naim Garcia for Saturday’s contest, while Yvan Neyou is suspended due to the milestone yellow card that he picked up against Girona.
Head coach Jimenez will make changes from the side that started the last match, with Javi Hernandez and Valentin Rosier both expected to be introduced into the XI here.
Juan Cruz was on the scoresheet against Girona and should continue in the final third of the field with Miguel de la Fuente, while there might be a more advanced role for Adria Alti.
As for Sevilla, Tanguy Nianzou, Loic Bade, Orjan Nyland, Chidera Ejuke, Saul Niguez and Stanis Idumbo are out of the match through injury, while Suso remains a major doubt.
Idumbo’s absence could open the door for Peque Fernandez to feature in the final third of the field, while there is expected to be another position in the XI for Juanlu Sanchez.
Isaac Romero will again be tasked with leading the Sevilla line on Saturday night, but Jesus Navas and Djibril Sow might have to accept positions on the bench at Estadio Municipal de Butarque.
Leganes possible starting lineup:
Dmitrovic; Rosier, Gonzalez, Nastasic, Hernandez; Tapia, Cisse, Brasanac; Alti; De la Fuente, Cruz
Sevilla possible starting lineup:
Fernandez; Carmona, Marcao, Salas, Pedrosa; Gudelj, Lokonga; Lukebakio, Juanlu, Fernandez; Romero
We say: Leganes 2-2 Sevilla
Both teams will be missing some important players on Saturday, but we are expecting an open and entertaining affair. It would not be a surprise to see a home win or an away win here, but we just have a feeling that the points will be shared.
