Dario Vidosic has made an impressive start to life as a Brighton manager, having seen his side win three, draw one and lose one of their five league matches.

Brighton swept past Everton in their WSL opener, before they fell to a narrow defeat in their away meeting with Manchester.

The Seagulls quickly got back on track with back-to-back league wins over Aston Villa and rivals Crystal Palace.

They then held Man United to a 1-1 home draw, with Nikita Parris scoring the all-important equaliser against her former club to ensure Brighton went into the international break level on 10 points with the third-placed Red Devils.

Having taken seven points from their three home league games, the Seagulls will be determined to produce another performance in front of their supporters as they go in search of their first home win over Leicester since November 2021.

Leicester are sitting five points behind the Seagulls after winning one, drawing two and losing three of their opening five league matches.

Amandine Miquel kicked off her tenure with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, before she saw her side fall to back-to-back league defeats against Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

The Leicester boss would have been pleased to see her side bounce back from those two results to take four points from their final two WSL matches before the international period.

After taking a point off Aston Villa, the Foxes went on to clinch a narrow 1-0 home victory over Everton thanks to Yuka Momiki’s eighth-minute effort.

Leicester will return from the international break with an away fixture, and while they have drawn their first two road trips of the season, those results have extended their winless away run to seven WSL matches.

Team News

Leicester City Women's Noemie Mouchon on September 22, 2024© Imago

Brighton midfielder Jelena Cankovic is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Pauline Bremer is also expected to miss out after she picked up an injury against Man United.

With Bremer unlikely to feature, Madison Haley could come into the side to support Bruna Vilamala and Parris in attack.

At the opposite end of the pitch, Vidosic is set to stick with a back three of Maria Thorisdottir, Guro Bergsvand and Jorelyn Carabali.

As for the visitors, Miquel has confirmed that Noemi Mouchon will miss the rest of the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

The visitors are also without the services of Jutta Rantala, Shannon O’Brien and Lena Petermann, while Missy Goodwin will have to be assessed ahead of Sunday’s fixture.

Miquel could be tempted to select the same lineup that started the narrow win over Everton before the international break.

Brighton & Hove Albion Women possible starting lineup:
Baggaley; Thorisdottir, Bergsvand, Carabali; Kirby, Olislagers, Losada, Pattinson; Haley, Vilamala; Parris

Leicester City Women possible starting lineup:
Leitzig; Bott, Howard, Kees, Nevin; Tierney, Takarada, Mace; Rose, Momiki, Chossenotte
