Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Leicester City could line up for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Ipswich Town.
Leicester City manager Steve Cooper is expected to recall several of his first-team stars for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
The Foxes boss made nine changes to the side that suffered a 5-2 defeat away against Manchester United in the last 16 of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, with defensive duo James Justin and Caleb Okoli the only survivors from the team that lost 3-1 against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League a week last Friday.
Both Justin and Okoli are set to retain their starting spots again, although the former could move over to left-back, with Ricardo Pereira recalled at right-back and Wout Faes also returning in central defence.
Harry Winks and Wilfred Ndidi are the most likely pair to link arms in centre-midfield, with Brighton loanee Facundo Buonanotte, who has contributed to five goals (three goals, two assists) in eight league games this term, operating in the number 10 role.
Buonanotte will likely take the place of Bilal El Khannouss, who scored against Man United, while Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Kasey McAteer could also be replaced on the flanks by Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi, who scored against Ipswich in a 1-1 Championship draw at Portman Road last season.
Jordan Ayew and Odsonne Edouard both got minutes under their belts in midweek, but neither player is expected to start on Saturday as 37-year-old Jamie Vardy is poised to lead the line.
Four players who remain sidelined for Leicester are Hamza Choudhury (shoulder), Jakub Stolarczyk, Patson Daka (both ankle) and Victor Kristiansen (muscle) as they continue to recover from injury.
Leicester City possible starting lineup: Hermansen; Pereira, Okoli, Faes, Justin; Ndidi, Winks; Fatawu, Buonanotte, Mavididi; Vardy
