Nottingham Forest will be attempting to extend a Premier League streak when they square off against Crystal Palace at the City Ground on Monday night.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Nottingham Forest will be putting a Premier League streak on the line when they play host to Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The East Midlands outfit have enjoyed a positive start to the new campaign, suffering just one defeat in seven games and sitting in 10th position in the Premier League standings.

However, that one reverse came shortly before the October international break, Forest succumbing by a 1-0 scoreline at the hands of Fulham.

To their credit, Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side bounced back with a deserved 1-1 draw at Chelsea last time out, the visitors to Stamford Bridge unfortunate not to collect all three points.

Forest head into this fixture with Palace seven points clear of their next opponents, who sit in the relegation zone and are yet to post a victory in the top flight during 2024-25.

What Premier League streak is on the line?

On a negative note, Forest are now on a three-game streak without posting a win, the other contest without success being a 2-2 draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nevertheless, against the fierce rivals of the Seagulls, Forest are yet to ever suffer a defeat in the Premier League, a period spanning eight matches.

Forest have recorded three victories and five draws against Palace, starting with two 1-1 draws during the 1992-93 campaign.

Both teams were relegated that season before earning an immediate return through promotion from Division One, with Forest completing the double in 1994-95.

The two sides would not lock horns again in the Premier League until 2022-23, a second-half goal from Morgan Gibbs-White proving to be the difference in the City Ground contest in November 2022.

Since then, though, three low-scoring draws have been played out, something that may give Palace hope that they can finally end this dismal streak.

Palace looking to avoid ending 31-year run

Meanwhile, Palace are looking to avoid bringing an end to a streak that has been in place since the 1992-93 season.

Should they fail to overcome Forest on Monday night, it would represent the first time for 31 years that they have started a top-flight campaign without winning any of their first eight matches.

Furthermore, Palace are bidding to avoid losing three successive games in the Premier League for the first time since March 2023.
