Inter Miami lineup vs. New England Revolution: Predicted XI for MLS clash

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Inter Miami could line up for Saturday’s MLS clash with the New England Revolution.

In their dramatic 1-0 victory over Toronto, Inter Miami coach Tata Martino rested most of his star players until the second half when they needed a goal.

Even with a chance to set an MLS record for points in a season with a win on Saturday against the New England Revolution, we believe that approach will be the same, meaning Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba may all be rested unless they are absolutely needed.

Suarez has an outside shot at the Golden Boot, currently with 19 goals, but given he will need four just to draw even with Christian Benteke, it would be a surprise to see him feature in the starting 11.

First-choice goalkeeper Drake Callender may get to rest once again, just as he did against the Reds, with Oscar Ustari collecting a clean sheet in his place the last time out.

Nicolas Freire and Facundo Farias are both recovering from ACL injuries, and neither of them will likely be ready to play on Saturday.

There are a few more doubts for them on Decision Day, such as David Martinez, who has an adductor strain, CJ dos Santos is unlikely to return from his hand issue, Lawson Sunderland has a sore hamstring, and Leo Afonso is dealing with a groin injury.

Federico Redondo and Marcelo Weigandt are eligible to return after each being forced out of their previous encounter with yellow card suspensions.

Look for Leonardo Campana to be the main man in the attack, while Robert Taylor and Matias Rojas have provided them with some solid secondary scoring all season, and we expect to see them start this match.

Inter Miami possible starting lineup:
Ustari; Aviles, Kryvtsov, Allen; Gressel, Ruiz, Redondo, Bright; Rojas, Taylor; Campana
