SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly suffered a significant setback to their hopes of signing Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling.

The 18-year-old has been one of the standout players in Southampton’s difficult start to the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Dibling featured as a substitute in the first three matches of the season, before he forced his way into the lineup for the home meeting with Manchester United.

The teenager showcased his nimble footwork to win a penalty against the Red Devils, only to see Cameron Archer miss the subsequent spot-kick in the 3-0 defeat.

Dibling went on to score his first Premier League goal in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town, before retaining his starting spot for games against Bournemouth and Arsenal.

Can the Saints keep hold of their highly-rated youngster?

Saints boss Russel Martin has previously stated that the club are in a “strong position”, insisting they have no intention of selling Dibling in the near future.

Tieing the attacker down to a new deal will only strengthen Southampton’s negotiating position, making it tougher for his admirers to strike a deal.

However, there is always the possibility that a club could make a significant offer which may be difficult to refuse.

One thing is for sure, Dibling will continue to generate interest and increase his price tag if he continues to deliver impressive performances for the South Coast side.
