Fulham ‘targeting’ Reiss Nelson after Ernest Nuamah move ‘falls through’

Fulham are reportedly pursuing a deal for Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson after failing in their bid to sign Lyon’s Ernest Nuamah.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Fulham have reportedly turned their focus to signing Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson after their move for Lyon‘s Ernest Nuamah fell through.

The Cottagers are keen to strengthen their wide options following the departure of Willian and Bobby De Cordova-Reid earlier this summer.

Fulham have been working on a deal to sign Nuamah from French side Lyon on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Lyon were seemingly open to offloading the 20-year-old despite signing him on a permanent deal earlier this summer following last season’s loan spell at the Groupama Stadium.

Fulham turn their focus to Nelson

According to Sky Sports News, Nuamah is set to remain with Lyon after his proposed move to Fulham fell through in the closing stages of the window.

Nottingham Forest had reportedly made an enquiry for Nuamah, while there was also thought to be interest from Everton.

Having experienced disappointment in their Nuamah pursuit, Fulham are now holding out hope that they can sign Nelson from Arsenal.

However, a recent report claimed that newly-promoted Ipswich Town were on the verge of signing the 24-year-old on a season-long loan move.

The Arsenal academy graduate has made 90 competitive appearances for the first-team, contributing eight goals and nine assists.
