Stevenage have experienced a mixed start to the 2024-25 season, having won two, drawn one and lost two of their opening five matches in all competitions.

Alex Revell‘s side began the campaign with a 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town, before losing consecutive away games against Norwich City and Huddersfield Town in the EFL Cup and league respectively.

Stevenage bounced back with a home win in the EFL Trophy against Crystal Palace Under-21s, but they were unable to claim another victory in their recent league game against Burton Albion after they played out a goalless draw at the Pirelli Stadium.

Having failed to win any of their three away matches, Stevenage will be looking forward to returning to the Lamex Stadium, where they will have the opportunity to begin the campaign with three consecutive home wins in all competitions.

The host may be able to take confidence from the fact they recorded a narrow 1-0 win in last season’s home meeting against Lincoln.

While Stevenage are sitting in 11th spot, Lincoln are sitting two points better off in sixth position in the League One table.

The Imps kicked off the campaign with a 3-2 away win over Burton, before they were stopped in their tracks by consecutive 2-1 home defeats against Harrogate Town and Barnsley in the EFL Cup and league respectively.

After experiencing a couple of disappointing results, Lincoln produced an empathic response to record a commanding 4-1 victory over Mansfield Town in their most recent outing.

Sean Roughan and Ben House found the net alongside an Adam Jackson brace to fire Lincoln to their first home win of the season.

Lincoln will now turn their focus to Saturday’s away trip, with the visitors looking to make it 11 consecutive away league games without defeat since losing to Blackpool on New Year’s Day.

We say: Stevenage 1-1 Lincoln City

Stevenage have made a positive start on home turf this season, having won their two competitive home matches by a 1-0 scoreline.

While they will want to claim a third consecutive home win, we think they will have to settle for a point against a Lincoln side who have avoided defeat in each of their last 10 away league games.
