Chelsea transfer news: Besiktas emerge as possible destination for prospect?

Chelsea are allegedly in discussions with Besiktas regarding the potential loan exit of one of their prospects.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Chelsea have reportedly identified Besiktas as a potential destination for one of their prospects.

Having added nine fresh faces to their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign, Chelsea’s recruitment team now face the complex task of reducing their numbers before the end of the summer transfer window.

Progress has been made to a certain extent with temporary homes having been found for the likes of Caleb Wiley and Andrey Santos, who have each joined Strasbourg.

However, the French club – who are also owned by BlueCo – have just one more available slot for a Chelsea player, while the Blues can only facilitate four more foreign loans as per FIFA regulations.

As a result, decisions need to be made to determine which players will move abroad and who will be left to find a club on the domestic front.

Angelo likely to go abroad?

Staying on the theme of Strasbourg, Angelo Gabriel made a positive impression there last season, featuring on 25 occasions in all competitions.

A return to Stade de la Meinau has felt like a realistic possibility given that the Brazilian missed the back end of last season through injury.

Instead, according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who was commenting on X, the 19-year-old could be on his way to Turkey.

Andrade says that discussions are taking place behind the scenes to decide whether Besiktas would be a suitable club for the former Santos youngster.

Angelo featured for just 65 minutes during pre-season, while Enzo Maresca has already acknowledged that he is open to the starlet going out on loan.

Would Besiktas be the right fit for Angelo?

Whether Besiktas is the perfect club for Angelo effectively comes down to game time with Chelsea wanting to see his experience and value rise in unison.

Milot Rashica and Semih Kilicsoy were deployed in the wide areas for Besiktas’ first Super Lig fixture of the season, their side prevailing 2-0 against Samsunspor.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst is currently waiting to see whether Besiktas will face Partizan Belgrade or Lugano in the Europa League playoffs.

Nevertheless, even if the Black Eagles were to lose that tie, they would drop into the Europa Conference League, making it imperative that they have competition for places in all areas.
