Manchester United are allegedly still in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
Manchester United are allegedly still in negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over a move for Uruguay international Manuel Ugarte, with the Red Devils remaining hopeful that a deal can be agreed.
Ugarte has been heavily linked with a switch to the 20-time English champions this summer, but it had recently been claimed that the Premier League giants had cooled their interest.
PSG are allegedly demanding €60m (£51.4m) for the midfielder, but Man United are not thought to be willing to pay that amount for the 23-year-old, who moved to Paris from Sporting Lisbon last summer.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, a deal for the midfielder is not completely off the table, with Man United and PSG remaining in negotiations in the hope of coming to an agreement.
Plettenberg claims that Ugarte wants to move to Old Trafford, while the midfielder’s agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for the deal to go through before the transfer window closes.

Man United ‘remain in talks’ over Ugarte deal
Ugarte made 37 appearances for PSG last season after arriving from Sporting, contributing three assists in the process, before representing Uruguay at this summer’s Copa America.
Man United had allegedly identified Ugarte as their leading midfield target but have since been heavily linked with Burnley‘s Sander Berge.
PSG have recently completed a deal for Benfica midfielder Joao Neves, which will have boosted Man United’s chances of signing Ugarte before the transfer window closes.
However, the French champions will seemingly have to reduce their asking price for the South American if a deal is to go through before the end of the transfer market.
Ugarte starred for Sporting before his arrival in Paris, representing the Portuguese giants on 85 occasions in all competitions, scoring once and providing three assists in the process.

Who else could Man United sign before the window closes?
Man United are allegedly making strong progress in their attempts to sign Bayern Munich duo Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt before the end of the transfer window.
The Red Devils are said to be planning to make at least three more signings before the window closes, which could potentially be Mazraoui, De Ligt and Ugarte.
However, the club are also believed to be open to bringing in another attacker, with a move likely to depend on whether Jadon Sancho leaves before the end of the transfer window.
Man United have signed two new players this summer, with Joshua Zirkzee becoming the first arrival of the INEOS era, before Leny Yoro followed soon after, but the latter will be on the sidelines until November due to the foot injury that he picked up against Arsenal during pre-season.
