Chelsea transfer news: ‘Deal agreed’ for youngster to join in 2025

Chelsea reportedly finalise yet another deal for a wonderkid to make the transfer to Stamford Bridge, this time in 2025.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Chelsea have reportedly finalised terms for yet another wonderkid to make the transfer to Stamford Bridge.

Despite initial concerns over complying with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, the Blues have been relentless during the summer window.

Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga and Caleb Wiley have all signed for the West Londoners.

Those deals have cost in the region of £73.5m, with at least £88m being recouped and players such as Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr departing on free transfers, creating extra leeway on the wage bill in the process.

However, it is common knowledge that co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital will continue to acquire fresh faces, with goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen seemingly on the brink of arriving from Villarrael.

In the background, though, Chelsea’s recruitment team have been working to get a deal for another South American wonderkid over the line as soon as possible.

Anselmino on the brink of Chelsea move

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have finally successfully negotiated terms for the acquisition of Boca Juniors defender Aaron Anselmino.

A potential transfer has been in the offing for a number of weeks, Chelsea having faced competition from Manchester United for the centre-back.

The race for his signature has been won by the West Londoners, however, with a package said to be worth $20m (£15.56m) having been agreed.

Anselmino will allegedly make the journey to England on Monday to finalise the move before returning to Boca Juniors on loan until the start of 2025.

How does Anselmino’s career look so far?

With Enzo Maresca possessing so many options in his Chelsea squad, it was a foregone conclusion that Anselmino continues his development in his homeland.

The 19-year-old has made just 10 senior appearances for Boca Juniors, with just 299 minutes spread across five outings coming during 2024.

Two starts have come in this season’s Copa Sudamericana, Anselmino contributing to clean sheets against Nacional Potosi and Trinidense respectively.

When he does complete his stint with Boca Juniors, a period in Chelsea’s academy ranks or a loan elsewhere will be next on the agenda.
