Saturday’s Olympics Men’s Football predictions including France Under-23s vs. Guinea Under-23s

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today’s Olympics Men’s Football fixtures, including France Under-23s and Guinea Under-23s.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Days after their controversial defeat against Morocco, Argentina seek a response in their Paris 2024 Olympics Group B match with Iraq at Groupama Stadium on Saturday.

Javier Mascherano described the events against the North Africans as a “circus” but the South Americans must refocus to avoid group-stage elimination against a side that claimed maximum points against Ukraine last time out.

We say: Argentina 2-1 Iraq

With elimination staring them in the face, Argentina need no extra motivation to produce a positive showing from the off against Iraq.

Their opponents will be tough to beat, but Mascherano’s side will put their tournament-opening defeat against Morocco behind them to notch a significant win against the Lions of Babylon.

Spain will look to book their place in the knockout round at the Paris 2024 Olympics when they take on the Dominican Republic at Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Saturday afternoon.

Los Quisqueyanos earned their first point at the Games in their opening match against Egypt, while La Roja claimed all three in their tournament-opener against Uzbekistan.

We say: Dominican Republic 0-2 Spain

While the Dominican Republic made a promising start to their Olympics campaign, they have historically struggled against the bigger European nations, and we feel they will be no match for the Spaniards in this one.

Ukraine aim to bounce back from their Paris 2024 Olympics tournament-opening loss to Iraq when they face Morocco in a Group B match at Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Saturday.

Ruslan Rotan’s men could not hold on to their advantage in the loss and they face their North African opponents fresh off a controversial victory over Argentina on Wednesday.

We say: Ukraine 1-1 Morocco

Ukraine should feel hard done by to have come away with nothing in their loss to Iraq despite fashioning ample chances to have claimed a point.

They should share the spoils against a talented Morocco team on Saturday, which would see them head into the final group game still in with a shot of securing progress to the next round.

The second round of matches at the Paris 2024 Olympics will see Uzbekistan taking on Egypt at Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau on Saturday afternoon.

The White Wolves lost their opening match of the competition to Spain, while the young Pharaohs played out an underwhelming goalless draw against the Dominican Republic.

We say: Uzbekistan 1-1 Egypt

While Egypt enter this match as marginal favourites, their performance in the opening match was far from convincing and we feel Uzbekistan may just be able to snatch a share of the spoils in this one.

New Zealand could secure progress to the quarter-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics when they face the USA in Saturday’s Group A match at Stade Velodrome.

The OlyWhites defeated Guinea in their tournament opener while the Americans were unfortunate to lose to the hosts.

We say: New Zealand 1-1 USA

Despite getting beat by France, the USA should avoid defeat against a side motivated to notch consecutive triumphs.

With New Zealand not possessing individual quality at Les Blues’ level, Mitrovic’s side should notch their first goal of the competition and concede fewer than their tournament-opening loss.

Group D competitors Israel and Paraguay are set to lock horns in their second match of the Paris 2024 Olympics at Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.

The Skyblue and Whites played out a 1-1 draw against Mali in their opening match, while La Albirroja suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Japan.

We say: Israel 1-2 Paraguay

While Paraguay suffered a heavy defeat in their opening match, they were right in the contest until they were reduced to 10 men. Back to a full contingent and with their qualification hopes on the line, we feel La Albirroja could pull off an important victory in this match.

Japan can secure their place in the quarter-final of the Paris 2024 Olympics when they take on Mali in their second group-stage match on Saturday evening.

The Samurai Blue posted the biggest win of the competition so far on matchday one and lead the group, while Les Aigles played out a 1-1 draw against Israel in their opening match.

We say: Japan 2-1 Mali

Mali looked solid against Israel and we expect them to put up a much better performance against Japan than Paraguay managed, but the Samurai Blue are in a great rhythm in this competition and we feel they will outscore the African nation in this one.

After a tournament-opening victory, hosts France seek to confirm their quarter-final place at the Paris 2024 Olympics against Guinea at Allianz Riviera on Saturday.

Thierry Henry’s men began Group A with a 3-0 win over the USA, while their opponents lost narrowly against New Zealand.

We say: France 2-0 Guinea

A victory takes France into the competition’s last eight, and the tournament hosts should have enough to secure a routine win against opponents expected to focus on frustrating and containing the more fancied home side.
