Tottenham to hijack Fulham’s move for £40m Man United man?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a swoop for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay, who is also wanted by Fulham and Galatasaray.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the signing of Manchester United‘s Scott McTominay.

The 27-year-old spent the first half of the summer away at Euro 2024 in Germany, where Scotland were gunning for an unlikely continental triumph.

McTominay played all three of the Tartan Army’s three Group A matches at the tournament, finding the net during the 1-1 draw with Switzerland on June 19.

However, the collection of one point from a trio of games meant that Scotland finished bottom of their section, failing to qualify for the knockout stages.

McTominay is likely to remain a key figure for his country late into his career, having already earnt 52 caps after making his debut in March 2018.

Tottenham to ‘hijack’ Fulham move for McTominay?

According to The Sun, a new Premier League horse has entered the intensifying race for the services of Scottish hero McTominay during this window.

The report claims that Tottenham are the latest team keen on a move for the 27-year-old, who has featured over 250 times for Man United in competitive contests.

It is understood that Ange Postecoglou is a huge admirer of McTominay and believes that he could work well in the engine room alongside James Maddison.

The Red Devils are said to be demanding at least £40m to even consider selling the midfielder this summer as they aim to keep their options open.

It is believed that McTominay is “open” to moving away from Old Trafford ahead of the new season if it meant guaranteed starting time in the Premier League.

Galatasaray also interested in McTominay

As well as West London side Fulham, it is known that Turkish giants Galatasaray are looking at a deal to secure the signature of McTominay this summer.

That being said, it is understood that the Scotsman would prefer to stay in the Premier League, where he has played all of his professional club football to date.

Marco Silva‘s Cottagers are in the market for McTominay as they aim to significantly bolster their midfield ranks ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.

Fulham recently lost influential enforcer and Portugal international Joao Palhinha to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who are now managed by former Burnley boss Vincent Kompany.
