Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly in no hurry to leave Old Trafford despite being a transfer target for the Saudi Pro League.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly in ‘no rush’ to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Casemiro’s future has become the subject of much speculation this summer despite the fact he has a contract until June 2026 with an option for a further year.

It had previously been claimed that Man United were still waiting to receive a viable transfer offer for the 32-year-old.

While there have been no formal offers, the Red Devils are still open to the prospect of selling the Brazilian as they look to get his significant wages off their books.

However, according to Football Insider, Casemiro is in ‘no rush’ to make a final decision over his future and will only leave if he is presented with an enticing proposal.

The report claims that the Saudi Pro League represents the only viable option for Casemiro if he were to leave Man United this summer.

Saudi Arabian clubs have been linked with the former Real Madrid man, but they are unable to make any official signings until their transfer window opens on June 17.

There is a belief they could step up their pursuit once the market opens as they look to recruit more high-profile names for their domestic league.

Why are Man United willing to sell Casemiro?

The experienced midfielder has spent two seasons at Old Trafford after joining the 20-time English champions from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022.

In his first season at the club, Casemiro chipped in with seven goals and six assists in 51 competitive appearances, helping the club finish in third place and lift the EFL Cup.

Although he struggled with injury last term, Casemiro still managed to feature in 32 matches in all competitions, contributing five goals and three assists.

While he remained a regular fixture in the Man United side, there was a noticeable drop-off in his performance levels in the 2023-24 campaign.

As a result, there are concerns about whether he is still equipped to play at the highest level, which has ultimately played a factor in Man United’s decision to consider a potential sale.
