Nottingham Forest allegedly identify a Bayern Munich forward as a potential transfer target for the January window.
Nottingham Forest are reportedly ready to make an official approach for a Bayern Munich forward during the January transfer window.
Nuno Espirito Santo has transformed the East Midlands outfit from relegation candidates to a team seemingly capable of challenging for European qualification.
Less than six months ago, Forest’s top-flight status was still on the line, but they now sit in third position in the Premier League table.
A total of 19 points have been accumulated from 10 matches, while Forest have impressively conceded just the seven goals during that period.
If anything can be perceived to be a negative, it is eight teams scoring more than Forest’s 14 goals at the other end, yet that is a minor point given their efforts in defence.

Forest to get ambitious in transfer market?
There was a time during the previous transfer window where Forest had to focus on ensuring that they did not breach the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations.
Although extra prize money is in line to be generated, club officials will not want to risk any points deductions like was the case last season.
Nevertheless, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenburg, Forest are interested in signing Mathys Tel at the midway point of the campaign.
Forest are said to have already made contact with the young Frenchman who continues to have his game time restricted at the Allianz Arena.
Just one start and four substitute outings have been made in the Bundesliga and Champions League during 2024-25, failing to feature for longer than 59 minutes in any of those games.
Plettenburg reiterates that the 19-year-old is not ready to push for a temporary exit from Bayern, yet Forest as well as Werder Bremen are both primed to strike should that be the case.

Would Tel’s situation improve at Forest?
Although Tel is regarded as one of European football’s top prospects, he has made just 14 senior starts throughout his senior career.
That would not necessarily improve at the City Ground with Nuno having Chris Wood as his undisputed option down the centre of the attack and several options out wide.
Tel would likely find himself alongside the likes of Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa in battling for minutes from the substitutes’ bench.
