Marcus Rashford will be bidding to inspire Manchester United to a victory over Chelsea when the Red Devils welcome the Blues to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Now under the leadership of interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, Man United recorded a 5-2 victory over Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.
The 20-time English champions have struggled in the league this season, though, only picking up 11 points from nine matches, which has left them in 14th spot in the Premier League table.
Rashford has scored four goals and registered three assists in 15 appearances in all competitions this season, but the 27-year-old has only managed one goal and one assist in nine Premier League outings.

The Red Devils academy product has tackled Chelsea 19 times in all competitions at senior level, boasting a record of six wins, seven draws and six defeats, scoring six goals and registering two assists.
As expected, the bulk of those matches (14) have taken place in the Premier League, with Rashford’s record standing at four wins, seven draws and three defeats, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Rashford has also faced the Blues four times in the FA Cup, losing three of those encounters, including in the semi-finals of the competition in 2019-20.
However, the forward scored twice in a 2-1 success for the Red Devils against the capital side in the fourth round of the EFL Cup during the 2019-20 campaign.
Rashford’s first-ever Premier League goal against Chelsea came in a 2-0 success for Man United at Old Trafford in the latter stages of the 2016-17 campaign.
Arguably, his best display against the Blues in England’s top flight came on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 campaign, as he netted twice in a 4-0 success for the hosts.
Rashford also scored in a 4-1 win for Man United at home in 2022-23, but he was only a late substitute in his side’s 2-1 success over Mauricio Pochettino‘s team in Manchester in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign, before suffering a 4-3 defeat in the reverse fixture in London.
All four of his league goals against Chelsea have come at Old Trafford, with the forward yet to score in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
