Man United ‘lining up £58.6m bid’ for Paris Saint-Germain forward in the hope of solving major issue

Manchester United allegedly prepare a £58.6m offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who was linked with a move to Old Trafford in 2023.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €70m (£58.6m) offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani in the hope that the Frenchman can solve the goalscoring problem at the club.

The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to Man United in the summer of 2023 off the back of an excellent season for Eintracht Frankfurt, but the Red Devils instead focused their attentions on Rasmus Hojlund.

PSG ultimately signed Kolo Muani from Frankfurt, but a difficult first campaign in the French capital saw the forward only manage nine goals in 40 appearances.

The France international has netted twice in nine appearances for Luis Enrique‘s side this term, but he has not found the back of the net since the Ligue 1 clash with Lille on September 1.

Kolo Muani has a contract in Paris until June 2028, but there is uncertainty surrounding his future, and according to Fichajes, Man United are ready to reignite their interest.

The report claims that the 20-time English champions are preparing a €70m (£58.6m) offer for the striker, who is said to be open to the challenge of playing in the Premier League.

PSG are also believed to be open to letting him leave for the right price, as a return of 11 goals in 49 appearances for the club in all competitions has been disappointing considering his form at Frankfurt, where he managed 26 goals and 17 assists in 50 appearances.

Kolo Muani was substituted at the interval of PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Nice last weekend, but he is in the France squad for their October internationals despite his recent disappointing form.

Do Man United need another striker?

Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are Man United’s joint-leading goalscorers this season, with the pair both finding the back of the net on four occasions in 11 appearances in all competitions.

Joshua Zirkzee has only managed one in 10 appearances, though, while Hojlund has one in five.

A return of two goals in 15 appearances from the two main strikers at the club is an indication of Man United’s problems, and the Red Devils have only managed five Premier League goals this term.

Only Southampton (four) have fewer goals in the Premier League in 2024-25, and it would therefore be a surprise if another forward did not arrive at the club in 2025.

As clubs found over the summer, though, the striker market is a very difficult one, and there is no getting away from the fact that Kolo Muani’s goal return in the French capital has been underwhelming.
