Wolves lineup vs. Brentford: Predicted XI for Premier League clash

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Wolverhampton Wanderers could line up for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brentford.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ defence could be strengthened by the return of the experienced Craig Dawson for Saturday’s trip to Brentford in the Premier League.

The centre-back was missing from the squad to face Liverpool last weekend due to illness as Gary O’Neil‘s men fell to a 2-1 loss, but his return to training was confirmed by Wolves earlier this week.

In the same batch of images, Santiago Bueno – who came off with a glute problem in the defeat to the Reds – was spotted, suggesting that he will also be fine to line up at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Dawson may represent less of a risk, but if Bueno is given the green light from the medical team, he should join Nelson Semedo, Toti, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Sam Johnstone in an unchanged backline.

Andre ought to sit at the base of the midfield once more, as compatriot Joao Gomes and Mario Lemina operate slightly further forward, but O’Neil may consider an alteration in the final third.

Indeed, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde lasted just 52 minutes against Liverpool and could make way for 20-year-old Carlos Forbs, even if the overzealous youngster did pick up a late yellow card for a crunching challenge on Andy Robertson last weekend.

Jorgen Strand Larsen and the influential Matheus Cunha will welcome Forbs into the Wolves attack if that is the case, and the visitors are still without a quartet of knee victims in Sasa Kalajdzic, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera and Boubacar Traore, as well as new signing Bastien Meupiyou.

Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting lineup:
Johnstone; Semedo, Bueno, Toti, Ait-Nouri; Cunha, Lemina, Andre, Gomes, Forbs; Strand Larsen
