Man United injury update: What’s the latest on wonderkid Leny Yoro?

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says that Leny Yoro “is doing very well”, with the centre-back expected to be back on the field before the end of the year.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag has said that Leny Yoro “is doing very well”, with the centre-back’s rehabilitation from a foot injury “going in the right direction”.

The Red Devils won the race to sign the wonderkid from Lille during the summer transfer window, and he made a huge impression in his debut against Rangers in Scotland.

Yoro then travelled with the Man United squad to the United States for their pre-season tour, but he was injured in his second appearance for the club against Arsenal.

It was later revealed that the Frenchman had fractured his metatarsal, which led to him undergoing an operation in the early stages of his Red Devils career.

However, the 18-year-old has stepped up his recovery process at Carrington, and it is believed that he could make his debut for the club at the start of December against Arsenal.

Ten Hag provides positive update on Yoro

Ten Hag has said that Yoro “is doing very well”, with the new signing expected to be able to make his first competitive appearance for the club by the end of the year.

“Yes, he is doing very well,” the manager told MUTV. “It is very pleasing that his rehab is going in the right direction and I expect him soon, but what I mean by soon, is that he is now in the right planning process.

“He is in the right spot and he will return as soon as possible into the squad and then the team training.”

Real Madrid were also heavily linked with Yoro during the summer transfer window, but Man United won the race to sign a player considered to be one of the best young talents in world football.

Which other players are currently injured for Man United?

Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount have both recently returned to fitness for Man United, and the pair will once again be available for selection against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.

However, Tyrell Malacia remains sidelined due to a serious knee injury which has kept him out since the 2022-23 campaign.

Malacia has recently been able to take part in training sessions for the Red Devils, though, and he could also potentially return to the field before the end of the year.

Luke Shaw is also still out with a calf issue, while Victor Lindelof, despite returning to training, is not yet ready to return from a toe injury which has proved troublesome early this season.

Man United, who are currently 11th in the Premier League table, will be bidding to return to winning ways when they tackle Tottenham on Sunday.
