Jadon Sancho to be offered Man United escape route by European giants?

Juventus allegedly have ‘a firm interest’ in signing Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho before the end of the summer transfer window.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Juventus reportedly have ‘a firm interest’ in Jadon Sancho, with the Old Lady currently exploring what is required to sign the Manchester United attacker before the end of the transfer window.

The Italian giants were linked with Sancho earlier this summer, but their interest appeared to cool once Sancho had held clear-the-air discussions with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag.

Sancho was involved in Man United’s preparations for the new campaign and then featured off the bench in the Community Shield on August 10, but he was not in the squad for last week’s Premier League opener with Fulham.

Barcelona have been credited with an interest in the ex-Man City youngster, who has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.

According to Sky Sports News, Juventus are also firmly in the picture, with the Old Lady already believed to have spoken to Sancho’s representatives to discuss personal terms.

Juventus ‘exploring’ late deal for Sancho

Sancho’s wages at Man United are said to be in the region of £250,000 a week, while the club’s valuation of the 24-year-old is believed to be €40m (£34m).

While the Red Devils would prefer a permanent exit, it is understood that a loan move would be considered by the English club, providing that his full salary is taken on.

Sancho fell out with Ten Hag towards the start of last season, which led to him being removed from the first-team picture entirely at Old Trafford, and he spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign back on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

At the start of pre-season, Sancho and Ten Hag managed to patch-up their relationship, but there are still thought to be underlying issues, with both parties seeking a resolution this summer.

Will Sancho be involved in Man United’s clash with Brighton?

Man United will continue their 2024-25 Premier League campaign with a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon, and Ten Hag could not guarantee that Sancho would be back in the squad when questioned during his press conference on Thursday afternoon.

“We will see. We have a squad and I hope we will have a squad with double positioning. When we go into the season after 1 September, then that also means you can’t select all the players for a game,” the manager told reporters.

“But we need all the players throughout the season because this will be a season of survival of the fittest. We have to manage it but also the attitude of the players is important. Sometimes they will be disappointed but they have to deal with it. You don’t win with 11, you win as a squad.

“The prizes are decided next May so, until then, we need all the players in the squad and we need a high level of high motivation. That is not an expectation, it is a demand from the club and the manager. It is the squad over everything and that will always be more important than just one individual.”

Sancho’s existing deal with Man United, who beat Fulham 1-0 in their league opener on August 16, is due to run until June 2026, with the option of a further 12 months.
