Premier League club ‘preparing’ stunning swap offer for Man United’s Jadon Sancho

Chelsea allegedly want to sign Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho before this summer’s transfer window closes for business.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Chelsea have reportedly emerged as serious contenders to sign Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho before this summer’s transfer window closes for business.

Sancho has patched-up his relationship with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag, and the forward was involved in the team’s preparations for the 2024-25 campaign before featuring off the bench against his former club Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend.

There remains ongoing speculation surrounding the Englishman’s future, though, with Paris Saint-Germain believed to be keen to secure his signature.

According to Fussball News, PSG have cooled their interest, having agreed a deal for Rennes’ Desire Doue, but Chelsea are now in the hunt for Sancho’s signature.

The report claims that the Blues are willing to offer Man United a transfer fee and two academy players in order to secure the forward’s signature this summer.

Chelsea ’emerge’ as genuine contenders for Sancho

It is alleged that a loan deal could also be agreed, with an obligation to make the move permanent next summer, while Chelsea would pay his entire salary under the proposed switch.

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund after his falling-out with head coach Ten Hag in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign.

BVB had been keen on a permanent switch this summer but could not afford to meet Man United’s asking price, which is believed to have been £40m.

The relationship between Ten Hag and Sancho is allegedly ‘still strained’, with severe damage being done last year when the two individuals initially stopped speaking.

Should Man United let Sancho join Chelsea?

The ideal situation for Man United would have been to sell Sancho abroad, as he certainly has the capabilities of hurting them if he remains in the Premier League.

However, if the Red Devils are able to receive a generous fee for the 24-year-old, then even a switch to Chelsea should be sanctioned by the 20-time English champions.

Sancho has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 83 appearances for Man United in all competitions, with the forward struggling to make his mark at Old Trafford.

It is difficult to see that changing this season, so an exit makes sense for all parties, and it would be fascinating to see whether a switch to Stamford Bridge reignites his career.
