Bournemouth sign forward Evanilson from Porto in a club-record deal, with the Brazilian set to fill the void left by Dominic Solanke.
Bournemouth have announced they have completed the signing of striker Evanilson from Porto.
The Cherries were left scouring the market for a new centre-forward after sanctioning the departure of Dominic Solanke.
Bournemouth agreed to sell the 26-year-old to Tottenham Hotspur for a reported £55m fee plus an additional £10m in potential bonuses.
After they allowed Solanke to depart, the Cherries were linked with a potential move for Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
However, they ultimately settled on Evanilson as their top target and have now confirmed the Brazilian as the latest addition to Andoni Iraola‘s squad.

Bournemouth break club record to sign Evanilson
Bournemouth have broken their transfer record to sign Evanilson from Porto, with the deal believed to be worth around £40m.
The South Coast club will reportedly pay an initial €37m (£31.5m) plus €10m (£8.5m) in potential add-ons.
Evanilson has put pen to paper on a five-year contract and has been presented with the number shirt vacated by Solanke.
Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake told the club’s official website: “We are delighted to bring someone with an immense pedigree to AFC Bournemouth.
“Evanilson is a hugely sought-after striker and for us to bring him to the club in a record-breaking deal shows our ambition and intent.
“Having scored 25 goals last season, including goals in the Champions League, we feel that his experience and ability despite only being 24 will help us to match our ambitions moving forward.
“It’s well known that we were keen on bringing a striker to the football club and for us to complete this deal so quickly is a testament to our recruitment team.”

Who is Bournemouth’s new signing?
Evanilson spent the majority of his early career with Fluminense, before he completed a move to Porto in September 2020.
The forward went on to make 154 competitive appearances for the Portuguese giants, scoring 60 goals and 21 assists.
Evanilson, who has represented Brazil on two occasions, has left Porto after winning one Primeira Liga title, a Taca da Liga, a domestic Super Cup and the Taca de Portugal on three occasions.
It is currently unclear whether he was signed in time to be eligible for Sunday’s Premier League opener against Brentford.
