Sports Mole discusses what to expect from Saturday’s action at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with finals taking place in the men’s basketball and women’s football.
Still sitting pretty in the top five of the medal table heading into the penultimate day of Paris 2024 Olympics action, Great Britain clinched their 14th gold in the French capital on Friday, when 19-year-old climber Toby Roberts stunned the field in the boulder and lead competition.
Katarina Johnson-Thompson also banished her Olympic demons with an extremely hard-fought silver in the women’s heptathlon, while a handful of medals were also secured on the athletics track and in the cycling velodrome.
Elsewhere, Spain came out on the right end of an eight-goal extravaganza to deny France victory in the men’s football gold medal match, while the women’s boxing title went to Imane Khelif amid her recent gender eligibility scandal.
Here, Sports Mole looks ahead to the must-see events in Paris on August 10, as Team GB look to add to their medal haul.
