Man United attacker ‘could be open’ to PSG move as ‘initial talks’ are held

Paris Saint-Germain reportedly hold initial talks with Manchester United over the signing of a 24-year-old attacker.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly held initial talks with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho.

The 24-year-old winger spent the second half of last season on loan Borussia Dortmund after a high-profile fallout with Red Devils’ manager Erik ten Hag in September last year.

Sancho has since been reintegrated into Man United’s first-team squad during pre-season after burying the hatchet with Ten Hag, and has featured in four friendlies so far this summer, including three starts.

However, speculation over Sancho’s long-term future is still rife and it remains unknown as to whether the winger is considered a key figure in Ten Hag’s plans going forward.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have both previously expressed an interest in signing the Englishman, who is believed to be valued by Man United at around £40m.

Sancho intrigued by potential PSG move?

However, it has recently emerged that PSG have stepped up their pursuit of Sancho and Sky Sports News claims that the Ligue 1 champions have held initial talks with Man United over the signing of the winger.

The report adds that discussions between the two clubs were over the conditions of a potential deal and Sancho could be open to joining the French giants, with personal terms not expected to be an issue.

Sancho has failed to reach the heights expected at Old Trafford since joining Man United for around £75m in 2021, contributing with just 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances across all competitions.

It is thought that Sancho, who has two years remaining on his contract, would push for an exit from the Red Devils if he is not assured of regular game time under Ten Hag next season.

‘Dialogue remains open’ between PSG, Man United

According to Sky Sports News, dialogue remains open between PSG and Man United as they have also discussed a potential transfer for midfielder Manuel Ugarte this summer.

The Red Devils have stepped up their pursuit of the Uruguay international after missing out on one of their top midfield targets in the form of Joao Neves, who has completed a big-money move to none other than PSG.

However, as things stand, Man United will only consider a move to Ugarte if PSG lower their €60m (£51.5m) valuation of the 23-year-old.

Ugarte is said to be keen to make the switch to Old Trafford this summer, but the Red Devils are now plotting potential moves for other midfield targets including Monaco‘s Youssouf Fofana, Real Sociedad‘s Martin Zubimendi, Burnley‘s Sander Berge and Fiorentina‘s Sofyan Amrabat, who spent last season on loan with Ten Hag’s side.
