Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will headline the Georgia side in the country’s first-ever match in the finals of a major tournament on Tuesday evening.
Willy Sagnol‘s side will begin their Euro 2024 Group F campaign against Turkey in Dortmund, and it will be a historic fixture for the Crusaders, who qualified for the European Championship by beating Greece on penalties in the final of the playoffs.
Kvaratskhelia has scored 15 times in 30 appearances for his country, and the 23-year-old will lead the line on Tuesday, with Metz’s Georges Mikautadze likely to be selected alongside him.
Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili will feature between the sticks, while Guram Kashia will captain the side from the middle of the defence, with the 36-year-old in line to win his 114th cap.
Solomon Kvirkvelia and Otar Kiteishvili are expected to overcome fitness problems to feature in the Georgia XI, while Lasha Dvali is set to be given the nod at the back.
Watford’s Giorgi Chakvetadze has scored eight times in 25 caps for his country, and he is also likely to be included in the starting side for this contest.
