Much will be made of whether the respective favourites can lift the trophy, or if any dark horses or surprise packages can emerge like Greece’s famous triumph in 2004.
However, there is also the potential for some of the international greats to be participating in their final major competitions, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo both featuring on that list.
Argentina maestro Messi, at the age of 36, may still target the 2026 World Cup, but it remains plausible that the attacker may view the Copa America as his last hurrah, particularly if the world champions add another trophy to their collection.
Ronaldo is further down the evolutionary road at 39, and the Portuguese superstar could also be viewing Euro 2024 as his last chance to extend an international goalscoring record that may stand the test of time.
