Cristiano Ronaldo ‘pushing for double Real Madrid reunion at Al-Nassr’

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly keen to see two of his former Real Madrid teammates join him at Al-Nassr ahead of next season.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly eager for Al-Nassr to target two of his former Real Madrid teammates during the summer transfer window.

The legendary Portuguese has spent the last year-and-a-half at the Saudi Pro League club, scoring an impressive 64 goals from 70 appearances.

However, aside from the Arab Club Champions Cup, Ronaldo is yet to win any further silverware at Al-Nassr, who finished as runners-up in the league and King’s Cup during 2023-24.

Despite that disappointment, it has since been confirmed that the 39-year-old will remain at the Global One for next season, leading to speculation as to how they will attempt to strengthen their squad.

Squad restrictions for continental competitions means that Al-Nassr cannot necessarily go out and sign numerous foreign players in the off-season.

Nevertheless, it appears that Ronaldo has given his opinion to the powers-that-be, talking up the possibility of two former teammates joining him in the Middle East.

Ronaldo keen to reunite with Casemiro, Nacho

According to Marca, Ronaldo wants to play alongside Casemiro and Nacho during the 2024-25 campaign.

Casemiro has been tipped to depart Manchester United over the coming weeks courtesy of looking off the pace during the backend of the recent season.

United are also in a position where they would prefer to get the Brazil international’s wages off their outgoings to bolster their position with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations.

In the case of Nacho, he has just brought a 23-year-old association with Real Madrid to an end, the defender coming through the youth ranks to 364 appearances in all competitions.

That concluded with another Champions League triumph at the weekend, the 34-year-old playing the full 90 minutes as Los Blancos defeated Borussia Dortmund.

Are both players likely to accept any offer?

As far as Nacho is concerned, everything comes down to where he sees his future. It had previously been anticipated that he would move to MLS, but that appears far less likely than a week ago.

Man United must first accept an offer for Casemiro from Al-Nassr for a move to become a possibility, but it appears unlikely that the new Red Devils transfer hierarchy would stand in his way if he wanted to move to the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Nassr may first look to part ways with at least one of their foreign players before considering a formal bid, with Anderson Talisca having been linked with Fenerbahce.
