Real Madrid transfer news: ‘Blockbuster deal for 25-year-old has been finalised’

Real Madrid will announce French forward’s Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the club on a free transfer next week, according to a report.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Kylian Mbappe‘s move to Real Madrid this summer has allegedly been ‘signed, sealed and completed’, with the European champions set to announce his arrival next week.

The France international will officially become a free agent when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires at the end of this month.

Real Madrid have long been considered as the favourites for the World Cup winner despite lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia and suggestions of interest from the Premier League.

Los Blancos have thus far not announced a move for the 25-year-old, as the club had wanted to focus on their Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

The capital giants became European champions for the 15th time on Saturday evening when they recorded a 2-0 victory over BVB in the showpiece event at Wembley Stadium.

Real Madrid ‘set to confirm Mbappe arrival next week’

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s move for Mbappe has now been completed, and the forward’s switch to Bernabeu will be announced next week.

Romano claims that Mbappe made his final decision in February to join Los Blancos on a free transfer, but it will still be a blockbuster deal due to the finances involved in terms of wages and signing-on fees.

The transfer expert claims that the Frenchman will have bonuses inserted into his deal related to winning the Champions League, La Liga and individual awards.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Mbappe is likely to receive in excess of €100m (£85.2m) as a signing bonus, with the club not having to pay PSG a transfer fee for the former Monaco youngster.

Mbappe ‘expected to receive an £85.2m signing bonus’

Mbappe scored 44 goals and registered 10 assists in 48 appearances for PSG during the 2023-24 campaign, including eight goals in 12 outings in the Champions League.

The forward is currently preparing to represent France at this summer’s European Championship, and he will then link up with his new team ahead of the start of the 2024-25 campaign.

Mbappe will leave PSG having scored 256 goals and registered 108 assists in 308 appearances in all competitions, but his relationship with the club has soured over the last 12 months.

The attacker is expected to line up alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in a front three at Bernabeu next season, with Jude Bellingham dropping back into central midfield.

Real Madrid could be in the market for a new central midfielder this summer due to Toni Kroos‘s decision to retire, although head coach Carlo Ancelotti is still hopeful that the German can be convinced to undergo a U-turn.
