Manchester United ‘set Aaron Wan-Bissaka asking price amid Inter Milan interest’

Manchester United reportedly reach a decision over an asking price for defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

SURE ODDS BANNER

Manchester United have reportedly decided on their valuation for defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Under the leadership of new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United are preparing to embark on a transitional period across the summer transfer window.

A decision on the future of head coach Erik ten Hag is imminent with the Dutchman at risk of being sacked despite Saturday’s FA Cup triumph.

Nevertheless, United must go through the process of substantially reducing their wage bill and recouping funds if they wish to make their desired additions in the transfer market.

There are players in the squad over 30 years of age who could be edged towards the exit door, particularly in the middle of the defence.

However, Wan-Bissaka is likely to be pushed along a similar route despite his regular appearances in the team, whether that be at right-back or left-back.

For a player who made 26 starts and four substitute outings in all competitions in 2023-24, United would generally be looking for a sizeable fee.

In the case of Wan-Bissaka, though, the former England Under-21 international has just one year remaining on his six-year contract.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, United are prepared to accept just €12m (£10.21m) for Wan-Bissaka’s signature over the coming months.

The report claims that the figure in question is the minimum value that United are prepared to accept in order to avoid a loss on their accounts.

Furthermore, the report says that Inter Milan have taken note of the situation and have identified the scenario as an opportunity to bolster their ranks.

Inter, the Serie A champions, are said to be ready to hand the 26-year-old a contract until 2027, with the option of a fourth year.

The Nerazzurri face a similar situation involving Denzel Dumfries, who they may look to sell for a higher fee than they would have to shell out for Wan-Bissaka.

Coincidentally, United have been heavily linked with the Netherlands international in the past and could plausibly make a move.
