Liverpool unveil their men’s and women’s home kit for the 2024-25 campaign, which is an ode to the treble-winning side from 1984.
Liverpool have unveiled their official men’s and women’s home kit for the 2024-25 season, which pays homage to the legendary treble-winning side from the 1983-84 campaign.
Forty years ago, Joe Fagan – who had only just taken over from the celebrated Bob Paisley – led the Merseyside giants to stardom in the First Division, the League Cup and European Cup.
In addition to being crowned top-flight champions for the third time running and sinking Everton in a replay of the EFL Cup final, Liverpool won their fourth European Cup by beating Roma on penalties in their own backyard.
No other English First Division side had ever won three trophies in one season before Liverpool’s historic haul in 1984, where Fagan’s men sported their iconic red shirt with a red and white collar.
The kit also featured a yellow crest and sponsorship badge, as well as a pattern of vertical white lines, and Liverpool’s jersey for the 2024-25 campaign is an ode to their former shirt, with a few modifications.
The collar features a red and white pattern with a gold tint bordering the red lines, while Liverpool’s badge and Nike logo are also cast in yellow as a tribute to their treble winners.

A chrome yellow pattern of Liverpool’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” motto is prominent on the kit, while both the shirt and shorts are complete with yellow and white side panelling.
Featuring the Standard Chartered logo in white on the front of the jersey, the kit was lauded by Liverpool men’s captain Virgil van Dijk, who is a “big fan” of the “retro vibe” the shirt is giving off.
“I’m a big fan of our new kit for next season and love the fact we’re bringing the retro vibe back,” the Dutchman told the official Liverpool website. “We are a club built on history and the 1984 team was one of our most successful ever. I’m sure our fans will appreciate the nod to those club legends.”
The women’s team will don the same kit for next season, and vice-captain Taylor Hinds added: “It’s such a different look for the new season, and we can’t wait to wear it. The retro inspiration always makes you feel a part of the club’s history is with you as you play.”
As well as the 1984-inspired home jersey, Liverpool revealed their new goalkeeper shirt for the 2024-25 season, which is a black jersey with white patterning similar to the 2020-21 campaign.
Fans can pre-order the home kit – which will be launched on May 16 – from the online Liverpool shop, official UK and international Liverpool stores and via the LFC store app.
