SURE ODDS BANNER

Seventeen-year-old Liverpool midfielder Ben Trueman has signed his first professional contract with the Reds.

The 2006-born lynchpin joined the Liverpool academy as a five-year-old and is enjoying a strong debut campaign with the Under-18s in the 2023-24 season.

Under the tutelage of Marc Bridge-Wilkinson, Trueman started each of Liverpool’s first Under-18 Premier League games this term, being deployed as a number six and number eight.

Trueman has set up goals in victories against Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland over the past couple of months, and he has been rewarded with his maiden senior terms at Anfield.

The 17-year-old also made one appearance for England’s Under-15s in 2021 and plays alongside his brother Reece Trueman – a goalkeeper – in the Reds’ academy.

Trueman has put pen to paper only two weeks after 17-year-old winger Trent Kone-Doherty signed his first professional deal with Liverpool, who sit second in the Premier League table ahead of November 25’s crunch clash with leaders Manchester City.
